Hi I’m Esther.

I hold the BACP Accredited Advanced Diploma in Person Centred Counselling and am a Certified Massage Therapist, Aromatherapist and Yoga Teacher.

I have over 30 years’ experience of working within health and social care settings and in Private Practice. I work with individuals, groups, couples and families.

My years of practice and continued personal and professional development have enabled me to work in an integrative /Pluralistic way. This means I work collaboratively and holistically using techniques and tools from different modalities to tailor an individual approach for each client.

Alongside an awareness of what happens in the mind - such as cognitive patterns and belief systems- I invite an awareness (a mindfulness) of the body and its inner processes and wisdom.

The heart of my practice is assessing how I can best be of help to you. I will consider your mental, physical and emotional needs and find the approach and tools that are most useful and meaningful to you.

The approaches I use are primarily driven by Humanistic Counselling, solution focused therapy, narrative therapy and creative therapy. Methods I use are role plays, EFT, self-talk, problem solving, Therapeutic Yoga and body and energy work.

A specific issue may be addressed or the process might be one of getting to know oneself better, to reconnect to and find a deeper meaning in life or greater personal fulfilment.

Whatever your reason for seeking therapy the process is an individual one and I will provide you with a calm, confidential space for you to feel heard and understood.

One-to–One or Small Group Yoga

Classical Hatha Yoga works on an extremely profound level and influences both the physical body and the deeper, subtle bodies which prepares us for deeper levels of awareness.

We will focus on the foundations and spend time with individual Asana’s (poses) to help bring awareness to your body and mind and ensure good alignment.

You will also learn the practice of Pranayama (Breath/ life force activation), Mudra’s (Sacred gestures), the Bhanda’s (Energy locks) and some Mantra (healing chants).

Some gentle flow sequences will occasionally be included, along with sound, imagery, guided meditations and deep relaxations.
